Hi, I’m Laura, and I’ve been teaching Slovenian since 2020. My teaching journey began unexpectedly during the pandemic when my hospitality job paused, and I started teaching Slovene online. I quickly discovered that sharing my knowledge is just as exciting as learning something new.
Born and raised in Ljubljana, Slovenia, I’ve always loved my home country’s caves, lakes, castles, mountains, and coastline. While I’ve explored other cultures—improving my German in Vienna, studying in the Netherlands, and joining Erasmus+ projects in Italy, Latvia, and Sweden—Slovenia is the place I always return to.
In my A1-A2 beginner course, I help you build a strong foundation in the language so you can progress confidently. Beyond teaching, I’m a lifelong learner who loves trying new things—but with Slovenian, I’m here to stay!
I'm a firm believer in the power of technology in education. I leverage digital tools and interactive platforms to make the learning process more enjoyable and effective. Integrating multimedia resources, virtual experiences, and real-life examples, I aim to create a vibrant and interactive classroom atmosphere!

The course is designed for English speakers. Because English and Slovenian are different languages, I explain things in English for most of the course so that you can understand the main concepts more easily, and the transition to Slovenian is smoother and easier to understand.
No previous knowledge of the language is required.
The beginner's course is designed for those who are starting from scratch, which is why it starts from the absolute basics. However, the course is also perfect for advanced beginners, as the difficulty of the lessons will gradually increase.

The course are divided into several sections, containing more than 40 video lessons and exercises. I recommend watching the sessions in order, as the course offer a sequential and logical learning path.
